Well, let me tell ya, these here brick screen walls, they ain’t nothin’ new. Been seein’ ’em ’round for ages, and for good reason, I reckon. Folks use ’em for all sorts of things, ya know?
What are these brick screen walls anyway?
They’re walls, see, but not solid like yer regular walls. They got holes in ’em, like fancy patterns made of brick. Sometimes they use that clay tile stuff too, or that concrete stuff, the kind they make buildings outta. But mostly, it’s brick. Good ol’ brick.
What do folks use ’em for?
- Keepin’ things private: Nobody wants their neighbors peekin’ in all the time, right? These here walls, they let the air through but keep the nosy folks out. Good for when you’re sittin’ on your porch, sippin’ tea, and don’t want no one starin’. Gives ya a bit of peace and quiet, you know? You can do whatever you want without feelin’ like everyone’s watchin’.

I saw a picture once, in a magazine at the doctor’s office, of a house in one of them big cities. Ho Chi Minh City, I think they called it. Anyway, this house, it had this fancy brick wall all around it. Looked real modern and stylish, even though it was just brick. The magazine called it the “Wasp House”. Go figure. City folks and their funny names.
They been around forever, it seems.
My grandma used to have one of these walls around her garden. Kept the chickens from wanderin’ off and the neighbor’s dog from gettin’ in. That was way back when, so these walls, they ain’t no newfangled invention. They been workin’ just fine for years and years.

Nowadays, you can even find pictures of ’em online. That “Houzz” website, my grandson showed me, it’s got all sorts of pictures of brick screen walls. All kinds of patterns and designs. Makes you think, maybe I should get me one of them fancy ones for my own yard.
So, yeah, brick screen walls. They’re practical, they’re pretty, and they’ve been around a long time. Can’t go wrong with one of them, I tell ya. They give ya privacy, keep the wind down, hide the ugly stuff, and let the sun in. What more could ya want?
